The Season of Christmas is one that we all really love; for the joy that it brings, the celebration, the food, family etc. But personally, I love this season for what it reminds us of, for what it represents. Of course there is the most important side that has to do with Our Salvation and Restoration to Glory with the Father. But there is also the huge reminder that Nothing is Impossible with God.
Prophecies were fulfilled; a virgin was pregnant and gave birth; the Child was almost killed but He lived to be an adult and completed His Mission… You know how the story goes. We read this story, watch it and listen to it year after year, in December and other times within the year, so much that we have somehow begun to normalize its significance and restrict it to the characters involved.
We now see it as Mary and Joseph’s story or Jesus’ story. We now say in our minds: “that is them o”. Yet, the significance of this story is not one that is unrelatable. In fact You and Mary are not so Different. Like Mary, you too have been chosen before birth and given a purpose. Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, God knew you. His plan towards you are good and not evil to give you an expected end.
Maybe you’re not even a virgin right now, maybe you’ve done something that you think is unforgivable and you’re starting to feel like you don’t deserve a great life… Rahab was probably the greatest prostitute ever and she was in Jesus’ genealogy. Or maybe you’ve been told so many times that you’re good for nothing, and you’ve been looked down on so much that you’re starting to believe it; block out those voices, GOD STILL HAS GREAT PLANS FOR YOU.
Like Mary, you have been made pregnant with ideas, hopes, dreams and visions. There’s something inside you aching to be revealed. Maybe it’s not clear yet, maybe you don’t even know what it is yet. Or maybe it’s clear but you don’t know how to get there or how it’ll happen. GOD WILL DO IT. Like Mary, you might also face Herods and difficult times, you might have to run to places like Egypt just to keep your dreams alive. REGARDLESS, YOU WILL BIRTH YOUR DREAMS.
And like Mary, your child, your dreams may have to start in a tiny manger, your dad’s garage, a small self contain, one face-me-I-face-you. And you might be thinking it won’t be bigger than that or that’s where it’ll all end. You may be thinking no one will help you out. Stop thinking like that. Keep working on your dreams, keep nurturing and perfecting your gifts, Shepherds will visit you, wise men will bring you treasure. YOUR DREAM WILL GROW!
Nothing is impossible with God. If He did it for Mary, He’ll do it for you too, coz You and Mary are not so Different.
🎄 🎄 🎄 Merry Christmas 😊😊😊
